STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION TO DRIVE SOCIAL GOOD
Communication and advocacy are integral parts of any initiative. A dynamic communication strategy helps raise the profile of a project or organization by creating and sharing compelling stories and engaging messages/mission statements, as well as incorporate strong brand management, communication toolkits, digital fluency, curated social [media] networks, and fostering of empowering connections with/between partners, public and private sector reps, academics, media, and the general public.
Employed as a freelance communication and advocacy advisor my work involves the above components along with strategic planning, coordination, content creation, psychology/behavioural change research and mapping, data analysis, and reporting. I use this skill set to bridge the divide between partners, program stakeholders, and civil society, and build context-relevant solutions for those who matter most: the people at the heart of every initiative.
I've been everywhere. Will work almost anywhere. The bulk of my experience comes from Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Although I work predominantly in the field of development, I have, on occasion, collaborated with local and international media outlets, universities, public art foundations, and private sector companies.
My client roster includes multiple United Nations organizations + philanthropic networks + provincial and city departments + regional and international organizations (e.g. ActionAid, CARE, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, or ICRC) + public universities + local start ups and NGOs focused on social justice and intersectional development issues.
